A brief reimagined underscore · original music composed by Marty Brueggemann
What do you think? Let us know in the comments. Fans of the original score by Dixon and Stein? (so are we) What differences do you observe in the 2 treatments of the scene?
This is the first video for the UnderScore YouTube channel - feel free to like, share, and subscribe.
The music you've composed is incredible! Funny thing is that I couldn't resist to compose an alternate score for this scene either, though I hadn't done anything like this before. I did it to see what orchestral writing would add to the scene, but my music hasn't got this 80's vibe of yours which is wonderfully innocent and playful. I'd gladly sit down and chat with you about scoring this scene. Very nicely done - thanks! If you want to watch my take: http://www.xanderscores.com/?p=253
ReplyDeleteHi Alexander! (apologies for our delay - our production had been on an overlong hiatus). Great work on your rescore! I really enjoyed the motor motif that kicked off the cue and ran throughout, also loved the percussive material when the vans come out of nowhere & think you really nailed the van flying overhead moment :) Thanks for sharing ~marty
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure! Thanks for your kind comment. I look forward to listening to your new episode. Let's keep in touch (on Twitter).
DeleteHey, this video is unable to be watched; or rather, listened to, because of copyright. Could you be so kind as to upload an audio only version somewhere? Thanks in advance. ^-^
ReplyDeleteHello Kenshiro! We're bringing the podcast into action again and finally found this. Apologies for the long delay to your comment :( The audio for the sequence is available at https://martybmusic.bandcamp.com/track/strangers-things-a-reimagined-score
DeleteWe'll continue to look for other means for hosting the piece with video (it's interesting, netflix had originally claimed the video but it was still up and they were earning from it. Not sure when it was fully pulled)
